ZION Development
Lantow Lofts is a mixed-use renovation by
ZION Development, featuring seven upscale condos
and a first-floor coffeebar. The development
represents the first new, market-rate construction
in MidTown Rockford in decades. Since 1982, ZDC
has invested more than $25 million in housing
and economic development projects that benefit
thousands of people who live, work, worship and
play in MidTown Rockford. A nonprofit Christian
community development organization, ZDC was formed
as the result of outreach programs at Zion Lutheran
Church.
In 2001, ZION transformed a crime-ridden hotel into the Grand Apartments. A $5.3 million renovation yielding 45 beautiful housing units, it represents Rockford’s first supportive housing facility for single adults coming out of homelessness.
Longwood Apartments, ZDC’s $6 million renovation of a rundown former motel, features 139 units of quality, energy-efficient senior housing. This award-winning facility features an urban garden and a world-class wellness program – free to residents – that serves as a model for other locations.
